Lula (Lourdes) Peoples grew up as one of five children in Ft. Lauderdale, where she attended a private, Christian school from PreK-12 grade. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Florida, where she met her husband, David. They were married in 1996, then after her graduation from UF in 1998, they moved to Tennessee for three years as her husband attended seminary to become an Episcopal priest. While there, Lula taught 3rd grade and then a 5th and 6th grade split class at the local parochial school, School of the Good Shepherd in Decherd. After moving back to Florida in 2001, she enjoyed staying home to raise her five children: Jessica, Nathan, Timothy, Maria and Carrie (Querida). Lula has a lifelong love of art is delighted to be teaching again.
