Marcia Boatner was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. After high school graduation she worked from 1974-1990 at the City of Lakeland Department of Police. She worked in the Office of the Chief of Police as an Administrative Business Secretary. She has also worked as an Instructional Assistant in Kindergarten.
After receiving her teaching degree, Mrs. Boatner has taught Kindergarten at St. Anthony Catholic School as well as St. Joseph Catholic School.
She has been married to Roger Boatner since 1978 and they have a married daughter, Emily Elizabeth, who is a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School , Santa Fe Catholic High School (Go Hawks!), The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), and Southeast Missouri State University.
